On August 30, nearly 40 people from the DAS and Douglas County enjoyed a perfectly clear dark sky filled with stars, the Milky Way, and at least half a dozen large meteors. Approximately 60 DAS members gathered outdoors at Chamberlin Observatory on July 20 for the annual club picnic, and to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the organization. Our very own DAS member, Ersel Serdar, won two major awards this year at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
