Open House at Chamberlin Observatory: Saturn!
Outdoors on the South lawn of DU’s historic Chamberlin Observatory
2930 E Warren Avenue, Denver (MAP)
Event begins at dusk.
Our October Open House coincides with this year’s second International Astronomy Day. For more information about Astronomy Day, which takes place in the Spring and Fall, see https://www.astroleague.org/astronomy-day-fact-sheet/
October’s Open House features the two-days-past first quarter Moon. Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) may be visible low in the western sky shortly after sunset. Saturn, a favorite of many, will be in the southeastern sky. There will also be treats, such as the globular cluster M13.
