Open House at Chamberlin Observatory: Venus, Saturn! Neptune! Uranus! Jupiter!
Outdoors on the South lawn of DU’s historic Chamberlin Observatory
2930 E Warren Avenue, Denver (MAP)
Event begins at dusk.
If you need to learn how to use your new telescope, come early, bring it with you, and ask our members for assistance as we all set up before dark.
Don’t have your own telescope yet? No problem! Join members of the DAS on the lawn just south of Chamberlin Observatory to view the gems of the night sky through a variety of member telescopes.
The public is welcome to come to see the telescope, the transit telescope in the library, and the 320-ton sandstone pier in the basement that supports the telescope and to learn more from our members who serve as guides for these tours.
We also have copies of astronomy magazines that are free to the public. We will have a QR code posted to enable guests to make donations, and a donation jar for cash contributions, as the DAS is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization devoted to public education about astronomy.
